Commenting on the resignation of David Sainsbury, the Liberal Democrats said:

“David Sainsbury was the best thing about the Government’s science policy. He provided continuity and an obvious enthusiasm”

oh, and:

“In March Sir Menzies Campbell highlighted the obvious conflict of interest in having the Labour party in hock to one of its own ministers. Lord Sainsbury has done the right thing by standing down.”
