Sad news via a London Region email:
Last week we received the enormously sad news that Belinda Eyre-Brook had lost her long battle with cancer. Belinda has put enormous energy into her campaign work in Kingston, rewarded initially with Ed Davey’s win in 1997 by just 56 votes but then turned into a majority of over 15,000. What remarkable skill, persistence and dedication. Not only in her own area but wherever she worked Belinda had an enormously infectious enthusiasm that we will miss greatly.
Our sympathies are with her family and friends.

The funeral will be on Friday 15th, 1.30pm, in Surbiton. We don’t yet have the full details, but I can post them here when we do, if people would like them.
As you can imagine, although we have known for some time that Belinda’s cancer was terminal, it is still awful news for her family, friends and colleagues here. She was a truly tremendous human being, as well as a great LibDem, and great campaigner. We miss her.
That’s so sad. She was a lovely woman – always laughing.
I was the Chair the Kingston Borough Party in the run up to the ’92 Election and have many fond memories of Belinda driving and cajoling us all to strive that bit harder.
As the head of office for the Borough’s Council Group and then as Ed’s agent one thing you could guarantee was that Belinda would be in the thick of things.
It’s hard to believe she’s gone.
My heart goes out to Rob and all who mourn her.
I had the privilege of working with Belinda in Kingston-her dedication, commitment and integriy made her a great colleague and good friend. Political allies and opponents won’t forget her campaigning skills and that ability to motivate those around her.
The following is posted over from http://www.edwarddavey.co.uk. If you go to the top of the page and click on “A celebration of the life of
