Like others, I think Paul has done an excellent job and will be sorely missed. Anyone know what he’s doing next?
I first met Paul (and Sheila) at the Kinkardine and Deeside by-election. He has been a great asset to the party. Good luck in whatever you do Paul.
I think we’d all wish Paul all the best as he maybe the most universally liked and respected person at the top of the party.
But who should the replacement be – personally I’d like to see someone who’s a top notch campaigner and a top notch liberal. Fortunately there is such a person out there 🙂
Paul rang me earlier to let me know he would be retiring.
I have known Paul for many years now – right back to University days at Leicester where he preceeded me by a few years – and he has acheived an enormous amount for the party during that time.
Victory in Harrogate and Hallam in 1997, numerous by-elections and the recent Green tax Switch Campaign are just some of his successes.
I wish him well in his new role.
Members will find Paul’s retirement letter (reproduced with permission) in the discussion board / forum
This is sad news. Would like to see Paul’s letter but haven’t been able to locate it on the Forum yet.
Very best wishes to Paul for the future. I agree with Grace, he will be sorely missed.
Why is it a secret from the voters?
Because if they read it they may crack the secret code contained within and discover the location of the election Holy Mail(shot).
Guido – just to wind you up mate;-)
Toby- mate,
Don’t agree with my postings – it’s just like the matris, the machines delete them…
