Paul Offer, the Conservative candidate in Chester, has now resigned.

And this presumably means that Ian Lewis will shortly be eating his hat…

Mr Offer also appeared on the Roger Phillips phone in on BBC Radio Merseyside and did not rule out standing somewhere else.

On the basis that he did fairly well in reducing the sitting MPs majority – there could be on offer on the way to a place near you!
