Don’t these people at the Local Government Information Unit and CCLA have enough work to do?
What is the point of these awards? Who (apart from the winners) will notice? Who (apart from the losers) will care? Who (apart from people you really wouldn’t want to encourage) will be inspired by the hope of winning them?
Congratulations to Dennis Meredith on his shortlisting. I have seen first hand how hard he has worked in his first three years as a borough councillor for a deprived council ward in Northampton North – and he thoroughly deserves the thumping majority he got in the same ward in last year’s county council elections!
