James Gourley worked for Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats as our official photographer until May.
He’s put up some super photos on this blog post.
Nick is seen at Go Ape where he famously went during the election, on the campaign bus, behind the scenes at Conference, sitting on the Government benches in the House of Commons, feeding a sea lion, waiting to catch a tube. He was even smiling when he was doing that!
You can see him delivering leaflets, blowing up balloons, rehearsing his speech for conference and much more.
The photos capture the mood of the moments beautifully and are well worth a look.

Caption competition?
When will HS2 arrive in Aberdeen?
It’s certainly reassuring that, although we suffered an historic, monumental political meltdown, it was beautifully photographed.
Need we remind ourselves of his total electoral disaster of the past 3 – 4 years. Never in the field of human elections has there ever been such a disaster!
@theakes — Oh, there have been worse disasters, and I can think of one without much effort. In 1993 the Canadian Progressive Conservatives went from 156 federal MPs (down from the 169 they had won in 1988, on 43% of the vote, I presume from defections or by-elections) to just *2* MPs (on 16% of the vote).
There may have well been more sudden and complete collapses of a political party’s fortunes, but I do not know of any.
Why isn’t Clegg doing what other defeated leaders have done in the past by getting his head down and doing the job he is paid to do (well, apart from Brown – he just disappeared).
By tipping up on various shows and pontificating as if he was still leader Clegg is further damaging the party. Worse, he is attempting to change the narrative to one which is fictitious, by continually putting out the message that we didn’t lose the trust of the people because of tuition fees.
Correct me if I’m wrong but technically he IS still leader, isn’t he?
Every time Clegg and Alexander pop up on our TV screen, it reminds me why I stopped by voting Lib Dem. The sooner they retreat from public life, the better.
Caption competition. “Nick to Danny” I am sure the Tories wont try to steal the credit for all of our good ideas.
