EXCLUSIVE: Lib Dem Voice supplies secret weapon to Eastleigh campaign

Eastleigh HQ

My photo above shows a small part of the Eastleigh Lib Dem campaign HQ yesterday afternoon. You can see The Blessed Saint Vincent of Cable (for it is, indeed, he) dialing Eastleigh voters and, with his back to the camera, party treasurer Sir Ian Wrigglesworth. It was very heartening to see our well-oiled by-election machinery in top gear making a quiet Rolls Royce-like whirr beneath the bonnet.

The many volunteers from across the country who braved the rain this weekend were sustained by an impressive piece of secret weaponry supplied by the skilled hand of one of the Lib Dem Voice team, @sarabedford. I refer to an array of home-made cakes on offer in the HQ kitchenette, which was highly impressive both in terms of quantity and the array of flavours. My photo below shows the last mouth-watering slices of a wonderful lemon drizzle cake, after the rest of it had been hungrily and gratefully devoured by hard-working campaign volunteers.

P.S This is the only LDV article this year to receive a careful culinary fact check.

It was great to catch up yesterday and to see Sara too.

Her cakes were superb, as ever 🙂
