There’s still time to apply for selection as the prospective Scottish Parliamentary Candidate for the Edinburgh Northern and Leith constituency for the 2011 election.
From a party notice:
The Liberal Democrats won around 11,000 votes across the constituency area during the May 2010 Westminster elections. The constituency also includes part or all of four local government wards, each of which has an elected Lib Dem councillor.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to motivate a large and growing group of activists, and form and lead an effective campaign team, in a Local Party which has extensive recent experience of full-scale target campaigns.
Applications with full political CV should be received before noon on Wednesday 11 August addressed to the David Harcus, Returning Officer, Scottish Liberal Democrats, 4 Clifton Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5DR or by email to [email protected].
Applicants should note that short listing interviews will take place on Saturday 14 August.
Applicants must have applied to be approved at the closing date for applications and must be on the Party’s list of approved Scottish Parliament candidates by the date on which a shortlist is drawn up. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure their application has been received before the closing date.

I suppose that, as a Sussex lad with no interest or knowledge in Scotland whatsoever, it might be inadvisable to apply for selection? 😉
