Ah, it’s started up again đ
By which I mean comments appearing on this site which have all the following in common:
- First time comment from someone
- Minimal name information given
- Person uses “us” or similar phrases to talk about the Liberal Democrats
- Person says the party is heading for disaster, eats babies and doesn’t know how to make chocolate cake (I paraphrase slightly)
- Person’s comments echo remarkably what Conservatives are saying
So I’ve had a bit of a clear out. If by mistake I’ve zapped a comment from you by mistake apologies – just get in touch to let me know. Oh, and if you are a Conservative, you’re welcome to comment on this site, providing (a) you don’t pretend to be a Liberal Democrat, and (b) it’s not just a string of abuse.

As a liberal, should I worry about this electronic monitoring? Discuss.
Stuart: no. If (probably pissed, probably young) Conservatives come here and clumsily pass themselves off as LD party members, they’re being dishonest and deserve tossing. Mark’s right to give the comments a muck out.
It’s no use chaps. The Conservatives have really stolen a march on *us* on this one: our astroturfing abilities just bear no comparison. It makes me ashamed to be a Liberal Democrat…
@ Leo–ashamed that we’re just not good at this lying online lark, so don’t bother trying?
I wouldn’t be to worried, for a start, most of us can count to 5 đ
> and doesnât know how to make chocolate cake
An assertion amply disproved (as Mark well knows, having contributed a relevant recipe) by ‘Serve a Liberal Helping’, the Lib Dem cookbook published next month (see http://www.camdenlibdems.org.uk/cookbook/)
I always found it really fun playing spot the Tory. Its almost a shame that they are being cleared out. I think its part and parcel of having an open forum. We always have the locked members forum thingy that I have never worked out how to get on.
Dom, what problems are you having with the forum?
Spot the Tory?! It’s easy! We’re the ones taking the living p*ss out of you lot! PS- i’m glad to see that LDV is now an open blog. Should make the site less ‘cringeworthy’ than it has been in the past. Speaking of the past, where oh where is the lovely Rob Fenwick? He’s disappeared from sight! Although i class RF as ‘barking’ he did brighten up the site- occasionnally!
Ryan,
I don’t really know. I tried once and it just wouldn’t let me register.
Funnily enough, I tried to register for that account that gives you access to the manifesto site and all the other bits and bobs and it kept saying that my mebership number didn’t match my details. I couldn’t find an email address to contact anyone on regarding this.
Any ideas?
Best to contact [email protected] and get them to double check the details they hold with the details you’ve been trying to enter. Normally it’s a typo in the postcode field.
