The Voice is only a success because of the interest and support from our readers. For many people just lurking and reading the site is all they want to do – and that’s fine, we’re grateful for people taking the time to read the site.
You can though help us continue to produce interesting content for a growing audience. Here are three simple ways:
1. Let us have your tips for stories. Perhaps there’s something outrageous going on in your local council? Or you’re an expert in a particular area and have spotted a story other people have missed? Or you’ve seen some news no-one else is mentioning? Just drop us an email at [email protected].
2. Share our content with other people. Like a story you see on the site? If so, please let your friends know about it. Whether it is by sharing it on Facebook, sending a tweet, adding a link from your blog, saving it on a social networking site or anything else – the more people share good stories, the wider the audience they reach.
3. Donate. We keep our costs to a minimum, but our hosting costs have gone up as our traffic has grown, and any additional funds beyond that can go on better Conference activities and more internet advertising to promote our site and stories.
4. Shop at Amazon via our affiliate link and help raise funds another way – but without costing you anything extra.
The site’s success is down to far more than just The Voice’s team. Readers like yourself are a keep part of our success. If you’re already doing any of these three – many thanks. And if not, why not try one of them this coming month?

Dear Mark,
I read LDV every day and it has quite replaced the newspaper LDN as the effective connection between this graas root and her party.
But I still a small dissatisfaction with the connection:
The articles and opinions are all very interesting as a stimulus for debate.
But the essential of debate is interaction in the comments postings, and it is here that I locate my disappointment.
While the original article comes from party sources, the comments are open to anyone including the political opponents.
It takes a little time to recognise these as they often pose under grandiose pseudonyms. I suppose what I would like is for the comments thread to be a debate within the party, as we have at the party conferences I can no longer afford to go to.
You might then reply to me that if I want to be exclusive, I have the Members Forum. I am a member of this but have not been tempted to engage. I think this is because the Forum groups are too small and lack the stimulus of a well researched article as a base thread.
I wonder if a compromise might be to have an member-identity mechanism on the comments thread that allows one to engage in a members’ debate; the mischief postings of hostile political opponents would then by default be identified.
I know one should be prepared to be non-exclusive but we could at present do without the political sabotage from a labour hate campaign. It would be nice to know that we are debating on party conference terms without muddying the water.

Elizabeth – I like that idea. One site that does it generally well is UK Polling Report where you can flag up if you are a supporter of a particular party so people know what political stance you are coming from. So maybe something on Lib Dem Voice that flags up genuine party members perhaps. It could potentially lead to other issues with our opponents quoting what Lib Dem members are saying as it’s more obvious who they are, but that’s probably not that big a problem.
I agree with Anders who says ‘One site that does it generally well is UK Polling Report where you can flag up if you are a supporter of a particular party so people know what political stance you are coming from.’ If you did this I could choose, if I wished, skim past abuse and destructive critisism from Labour/Tory trolls. I am content to read reasoned arguaments against our policies/actions but the volume of comments are becoming unmanageable
