I saw the news today, oh boy

All the serious, talented writers for LDV are on holiday or in meetings today, so it falls me to mind the shop and react to news stories.  My meetings don’t start until 4.30 when I have a board meeting, residents’ meeting and Lib Dem local party exec in quick succession.

So, I’m browsing around the news sections of the BBC trawling for content, when my eyes alight on… this little gem.  Quite apart from refusing to believe that “Never gonna give you up” was 21 years ago… have you seen what Rick Astley looks like today?  Oh boy!

Erm, ahem, trawl trawl.

More news about the re-organisation of deck-chairs in Downing street, also known as a cabinet reshuffle. Blimey, is that what Digby Jones looks like? He sounds different on Today.  Ruth Kelly’s going, but that’s not exactly news.

*fx taps fingers on desk*

There’s a bit of a Vaz development, but nothing much seems to have changed since we last covered it. MI5 have lost a computer, but it was encrypted.  So that’s OK then.

*clears throat*

So, what do you think about today’s news?  Scary, eh?

Rick Astley is nominated for the “best act ever award” (apparently).

Given the shortlist is also U2, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day and Tokio Hotel. I’m not sure how serious it is 🙂

They should have the Foo Fighters on after Dave Grohl’s acceptance speech at the Brits where he said how honoured he was to win an award previously given to Bros and New Kids on the Block 🙂
