Paddick refutes story in The Times

A short and to the point letter from Brian Paddick in today’s Times:

Sir, Your headline “I could work with Boris but I couldn’t trust Ken, says Lib Dems’ Paddick” (April 22) is inaccurate. Let me be clear. I would not work for Boris Johnson. Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson are both wrong for London’s future, and I am not prepared to work in either of their administrations.

Brian Paddick

  • An excellent chance for whichever candidate wins to completely humiliate the Lib Dems by magnanimously offering Paddick a role suited to his talents, even after he’s been thrashed, on May 2.

    Well done Brian, eh?

Does anyone believe The Times tells the truth in its reporting?
At least he believes in climate change, unlike some.

  • I think Brian’s saying the right things – it used to be an electoral offence to try and buy off another candidate during an election campaign – purporting to offer a job to him at this stage is not happening, what tey want is his votes.

If I were a London voter I too would be dubious about supporting either of them.

Brian is the Lib Dem candidate and he’s sticking to his own campaign in a tough election.

The headline was deeply misleading but what they put in quotes seems quite clear to me. He would never work for Ken but might for Boris. Presumably someone somewhere could see the tory target mail onslaught for second prefs and he’s been forced to issue this clarification?
