++Lib Dems hit another big fundraising target

Great news! Just after midnight last night, Tim Gordon, Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats, sent this message to party members from his Blackberry:

Just before midnight we hit our £300,000 match fund target for March and I wanted to let you know as soon as possible. The money we’ve raised is going to make a huge difference to our candidates in target seats across the country.

Thank you so much for your support.

That means that the party has been given £300,000 and will automatically get another £300,000 from generous large donors, making a grand total of £600,000 raised for the campaign in March!

  • It would have been easier just to sell a peerage, wouldn’t it? 🙂

Apparently there may be a supply and demand issue with these on or about May 8th 🙂

  • Money directly down the sink. I wonder who these large donors are, what they do and what they hope to gain…

Eeeeeeeee, John, Stephen and James – It must be so merry what keeps you going! I got the message and was happy to donate (and shall probably be even more so after 10.00 pm this evening after having looked at the alternatives on offer!)

There is an old saying about money and sense.
When you have more of one than the other … .. Well anything can happen. 🙂

But if you sill have some spare cash, can I recommend you go to the Torbay website and follow the example of the lead guitarist of Queen.

    Charles 🙂

I must admit to being reluctant to filter my donations via HQ. I have however been making small donations to individual candidates across the country.

I agree, even a Centrist Liberal is preferable to much else likely to be on offer this evening but I joined and remain a member of a non-centrist, green, egalitarian, social justice Liberal party.
