    Anyone remember the Tory posters in the Winchester by election where the losing tory Gerry Malone won High Court battle to rerun the electionary without the support of the local tory association? His posters were amended to read Gerry Alone.

    @ Kay Kirkham. I don’t recall seeing one of those. However, I did see one on which the photo of Gerry Malone had been embellished with a pair of horns and the words “is evil” had been added beneath his name.

    During the 1997 General Election the Tories in South West Surrey opted for large diamond shaped stake boards in support of:

    Virginia
    Bottomley

    Some of them succumbed to the surgical removal of the right-hand corner. As Chair of the local LibDems at that time, I never did discover the culprit(s), although I did have my suspicions.
