Telegraph names its ‘Top 50 most influential Lib Dems’ (Part I: Nos 50-26)

Iain Dale and Brian Brivati have once again compiled for the Telegraph the list of 50 most influential Lib Dems, and today saw the publication of part one, covering numbers 26 to 50.

At 50 is leader of the Welsh Lib Dems, Kirsty Williams; while propping up today’s list — just outside the top 25 — is Nick Clegg’s special advisor, Richard Reeves, the former head of think-tank Demos. There are a number of new entries, many of them MPs who now find themselves government ministers, including Andrew Stunell (28), Nick Harvey (32), David Heath (33), Tim Farron (34), Lord Wallace (42), Jeremy Browne (43), Julia Goldsworthy (45), Olly Grender (46), Sean Kemp (47), Colin Firth (48) and Miriam Gonzalez-Durantez (49).

Congratulations are due to Lib Dem Voice’s own Mark Pack, who rises two places to 42, as “a figure of influence behind the scenes”.

You can see how this year’s 50-to-26 list compares with 2009’s here.

I am curious how they measure this. Perhaps they show photographs to a selection of policymakers and measure how far they jump?

  • Ah … good to see that my MP, David Heath, is in at number 33 – I voted for him at the last four or so general elections.

I dont know much about Nick Browne, but I would haver thought he’d havea rival for the ‘most euroscpetic lib dem” prize in nick harvery who voted aginst maastricht.
