What would you call yourself on the ballot paper?

The “description” column in the list of candidates nominated for an election is where you normally find the name of the party that a candidate is standing for, or a close variant of it. It’s also what is then used on the ballot papers themselves. Sometimes too people are down as independents or have no descriptions. And then sometimes you have candidates who really don’t understand what “description” is for … as you can see here.

    Heh, funny but not quite accurate a story 🙂 In parish and/or commuity elections, there is no requirement to use registered political names. It’s perfectly within the current rules for those descriptions to be used if the candidate so wishes.

    How do they not understand what it’s for? At usually-non-political parish level description tends to get used for people’s job titles. However, OK, the 5’2 slim built woman clearly hasn’t a clue.
