Ok, even if you don’t speak Scottish, you get the gist.
Few Lib Dems will be sorry to see the back of 2015, but we’re an optimistic bunch so we hope that 2016 will fulfil its promise for us as a party.
We hope that wherever you are, you have peace, health and happiness throughout the year.
And, we know that some of you will be seeing in the New Year without someone you love. For some of you, that sense of loss is very, very new. To you especially we send our love and solidarity.
I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thanks to the long-suffering and hard-working LDV team who go the extra mile to keep this site running. From Ryan who does all the techy stuff I don’t understand, to Alex who manages the money, Alan who runs our social media and Mary, Joe, Nick, Paul, Chris, Antony and Stephen many of whom have had to step into the breach at short notice when horrible things took me away this year, you are amazing of you and I really appreciate all you do. You don’t see the behind the scenes chats and all the wisdom they impart, but they are all marvellous.
Happy New Year, everybody!

Well done guys, it’s a great site
You do a truly fantastic job – all of you. Thank you and very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
Happy new year! Thanks for sparing a thought for those who started the new year without a loved one. I lost my mum on Christmas Day 2014 and it is a reminder for me that throughout the holiday period some terrible things carry on as usual. Thoughts and support for the NHS staff who continue working, often in very difficult conditions, saving lives and easing pain throughout this period.
2015 has been the saddest year for me in over 40 years as a liberal. When we had very little the losses seemed possible to overcome in a a short space of time.
I will not live long enough to see these losses overcome
Happy new year and many thanks for all your hard work.
Angela, while I recognise the feeling, we have before had wild fluctuations in MPs, who matter less and steady local build ups in members and local representatives. Things are picking up in some areas quite quickly. The breadth of coverage may be tricky. Although I am cross about some things, I don’t write us down so much.
My proviso is that we obey the ‘ignore LPO’ rule!
