A roundup of results and those we are waiting for.
North East Fife – Wendy Chamberlain returns to Parliament, with a 13k majority.
Witney – Charlie Maynard is our winner here.
Esher & Walton – Monica Harding takes over from Dominic Raab, and with a 12k majority
Frome & East Somerset – Anna Sabine is our champion here over the Tories
South Devon – (was overlooked earlier, apologies) Caroline Voaden was our hero here.
Mid Dunbartonshire – This was a rare gain from the SNP, and with a 10k majority, thanks to Susan Murray.
Guildford – another previous Lib Dem constituency returning home. This time with Zoe Franklin and her team.
Woking – the blue wall is shattered again, to the tune of an 11k majority, putting Will Forster in the Commons.
Newbury – again one from earlier, and so good to see it back in contention. Lee Dillon is our guy here.
South Cotswolds – well done to Roz Savage.
Surrey Heath – Michael Gove’s old seat, although sadly he didn’t give us the opportunity to defeat him directly. Al Pinkerton made a decent gain here.
St Ives – it’s great to see Andrew George back in the Commons after a gap of nine years. And he achieved a 13k majority.
North Cornwall – another 10k majority, this time from Ben Maguire.
Mid Dorset & North Poole – quite a small majority but a very welcome win for Vikki Slade.
Maidenhead – Theresa May’s old seat, but Joshua Reynolds won it for us.
Tewkesbury – a solid majority for Cameron Thomas.
Honiton & Sidmouth – Richard Foord repeated his by-election success.
Didcot & Wantage – Olly Glover won this new blue wall constituency.
West Dorset – Edward Morello is our new MP in this archetypal safe Conservative seat.
Horsham – another blue wall seat that fell to the charms of the Lib Dems, led by John Milne.
Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross – Jamie Stone retains his seats with a 10k majority
Orkney & Shetland – Alistair Carmichael holds on to his seat with a 55% share.
Henley & Thame – another beautiful gain from the Tories by Freddie Van Mierlo.
Epsom & Ewell – after a very long wait, Helen Maguire wins the seat.
Bicester & Woodstock – a solid result for Calum Miller.
Still waiting – and we are in with a chance:
Chesham & Amersham
Do let us know if we have missed any.

The really weird result was that, on 12% of the votes, the Lib Dem’s look like ending with 11% of the seats. Compare that with Labour (34% of the votes and 65% of the seats) it makes you realise just how unfair FPTP still is.
My support for PR has always boiled down to “If you get 10% of the votes you should get 10% of the seats”. So, by some fluke, for the first time I can remember, the Lib Dems would appear to be getting the number of seats that their popular national support merits.
Congratulations to Sir Ed and his team and, finally, I shall be interested to see if Nigel Farage, now a member, shows a little more respect for our Parliament and our democracy in general than he ever did for the EU Parliament in the years he served there.
And Chesham and Amersham has stayed LibDem. That’s an amazing result – 71 seats which I believe is the highest total for the Liberals/LibDems since 1923!
Not sure if any of the remaining 6 seats to declare give any possibilities for any more?
Yes, Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire is on a recount and the local LDS saying they believe they’ve won it.
Have we got the highly esteemed and greatly loss Charles Kennedy seat back? Hats off to the team for allocating scarce recourses and also allowing locals issues (Sewage dumping being one) to also play a part. I was in the wrong and Mr Peck was in the right.. my apologies and hats off to you.
I’m not a Lib Dem voter, but congratulation. You have some good policies.
Missing from the list is Torbay in Devon where Steve Darling (with guide dog Jennie) ousted the incumbent Tory.
@John M .. Certainly was John . Doesn’t happen very often under fptp – but a collapse in the Tory vote coupled with a strong Reform vote is a painful lesson for the Conservatives in regards to fptp ..
As for Farage & Reform they had the third highest vote share & out performed us in that respect – they deserve to be there whether we like it or not – that’s democracy. The days of a comfortable 2 term government with a landslide are over given the volatile nature of the electorate …If labour fail to deliver meaningful change they can easily be dispatched the same way as the Tories went yesterday…
@Hans Windheuser – we covered Torbay quite early on in this post:
