it’s not really ‘well done’ other then for finally accepting what some of us have been telling them for two years; namely that they do have enough capacity to broadcast BBC Parliament fullscreen on the Freeview platform.
The space was always there, they’ve just preferred to use it for the two ‘interactives streams’ (channels 301 and 302) used mostly so the BBC could play at having a sports channel plus the odd sing-a-long for the Proms or ‘Maria’.
I know – but I thought I’d be gracious 🙂
At last no more straining my eyes. 🙂
I am being very dense but what does all this mean?
On Freeview (digital terrestrial), if you try to watch the BBC Parliament channel, the video itself is in a small box in the top-right quarter of the screen, rather than filling the whole screen like a normal channel. On satellite and cable, you get full screen BBC Parliament; from November 13th the same will be true on Freeview.
About time too! No more squinting at long last! Yay!
