Regular readers of this newsletter will know that your local MP, Theresa Villiers, and two local Conservative Councillors, Wendy Prentice and Bridget Perry have always been against moving Foulds [School] into the site of the Barnet Countryside Centre at the end of Byng Road.
Conservatives In Touch with High Barnet ward newsletter, number 39, June 2007, London Borough of Barnet
Sounds a reasonable expression of local concern perhaps?
But remember that phrase “have always been against” and now read this:
“One of Barnet’s oldest schools, Foulds School in Byng Road, is to be re-built … [moving to] the northern end of Byng Road, overlooking open countryside … Conservative Candidate, Bridget Perry, said: “I welcome this news”.
Conservatives In Touch with High Barnet ward, number 27, June 2005, London Borough of Barnet
And now read this:
It was certainly excellent news that Foulds School is going to have a brand new state of the art building overlooking open countryside.
Cllr Bridget Perry, Conservatives In Touch with High Barnet ward newsletter, number 28, December 2005, London Borough of Barnet
Does welcoming news and saying it is excellent sound like “have always been against” to you?

The Tories continually accuse the Lib Dems of saying differnt things in different places – this is just one upmanship – saying differnt things in the same place – by the same person!! You just have to love them….not.
I suppose it does show it’s always worth actually reading your opponents literature!
The local paper, the Barnet Times has picked this story up. See
