Two and a half years ago, my daughter gave me a ticket for Tosca at the Coliseum for Christmas (excitement! I live in the country). Afterwards I walked her to the Tube before catching a bus to Brixton. The next day I went to see old friends from my London days, who said that they too had been at Tosca, and had seen CK at the bus stop – where I had been just a bit later. I had worked with him on the constitutional review when he was party president and my kind daughter was in nappies, and it would have been nice to say hello.
