Danny Alexander doing Facebook Q and A on Scottish Independence Referendum tonight at 6 pm

Danny's indyref q and a

Danny Alexander will be answering questions on Facebook tonight for half an hour from 6 pm. If you have a question, you can submit it via the “You Decide” Facebook page which is run by the Scotland Office.

The Scotland Office invites you to ask your questions on the page:

The referendum on 18 September 2014 is the most important decision to face Scottish people in 300 years.

You have a right to know what it will mean for you.

To help you get the information you need to make a decision, Danny Alexander, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, will be on hand to answer your questions in a live Facebook chat on Thursday 21 August.

So, if you have a question on federalism, pensions, currency, the EU, tax, oil or anything else related to the referendum, ask away.

It’s interesting that he’s doing this on the much more personal Facebook rather than the fiery  hotbed of Twitter. I was surprised during the recent debate between Alistair Darling and Alex Salmond to see people I wouldn’t expect putting their heads above the parapet and commenting about the debate. Most of them were fairly horrified at Alex Salmond’s failure to tell us what currency we’d use while banging on about aliens and Project Fear. The second debate takes place on Monday 25th on BBC1 and this time you will be able to see it easily if you live south of the border as it’s being broadcast on BBC2 in other parts of the UK.
