Deva Kumarisiri, the postmaster who introduced a controversial policy against customers who spoke poor English, has joined UKIP and, the BBC reports, will stand for them in the European elections. He has apparently found a kindred soul in that party’s leader, Nigel Farage.
Regular readers will recall that Mr. Kumarisiri was once a Liberal Democrat councillor.

Yeah he was well too level-headed to be in the Liberal Democrats. Seems like a decent bloke.
Ah, you’re that UKIP guy who was really incoherent on Question Time?
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
That’s rather a change…
I posted a satirical comment in a foreign language and it got deleted within ten minutes.
Oh the irony.
Interesting that UKIP are still chosing candidates for the European Elections at this stage.
UKIP had already chosen its lists – but there have been expulsions and people made to drop off the list (if your face doesnt fit… and at least one candiate who lived in South Africa and got rumbled!).
I believe someone was made to resign in another area – and someone from another region took there place hence leaving a spot for this postmaster chap.
UKIP members – or those that are left – are not happy bunnies!
It is interesting to note that a large number of UKIPs claimed members actually took out 5 year memberships in 2004 – they remain officially members even if they have since died!
You kip if you want to….
