We look forward to your applications for LEEDS EAST.

If there’s a constituency that no-one wants, they can always email me an offer. I guess I’d have to re-join the party. The catch is that I don’t like being whipped, and some of my views don’t seem to mesh very well with some others’ views. 🙂

The poll from Clacton* which went out on the lunchtime BBC News put the LDs at 2% (TWO per cent!) (*Admittedly a small sample of the electorate: http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/aug/31/ukip-clacton-byelection-douglas-carswell-poll). If the LDs appeared on track to lose their deposit, I really cannot see any point at all in standing in such seats and the Party would be much better off deciding which three of the other parties most clearly stood for ideas/feelings/policies they reject (probably, in terms of ranking, this would be UKIP, the Kippers and the Semi-skilled Angry Old Blokes Parties) and should, instead of wasting time, energy and money on putting up its own candidates, be advising any (few) potential voters it might attract as to whom they should vote for instead. Anything else is just going to make the Party into a laughing stock.

  • If one is interested in a specific seat which hasn’t yet selected (and isn’t on the above list) – is there any way of finding out when it is expected to be?
