From their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in Westmorland and Lonsdale:
I seem to be in the middle of a nightmare at present. The BNP are standing all over my home constituency. Everyone seems depressed where I am standing for parliament. Gordon has decided to take money away from his core vote, PPS’s are threatening to resign!! When are we going to wake up!!! There is hundreds of councillors who are going to lose their seats if Gordon doesn’t listen. I am asking please Gordon for the last time wake up and smell the coffee and save the party as in rectify the tax change!!!With Regards
John Wiseman

“Another sign of Labour doom and gloom”
You’re not kidding. If their PPCs have spelling and grammatical ability that my five year old would be ashamed of, the Labour party really are in the doldrums.
The comments are brilliant.
“I have been too ashamed to canvass”
“And for god’s sake, read your posts through for spelling and grammar errors!!! Especially on your website. You’ve got a duty to make the party look professional.”
“Imagine, for a delicious moment, what Labour would be like if Frank Field were PM.”
Is there anybody outside of the few at the top of the Labour party who can find it within themselves to justify these current policies on any basis at all?
The argument is that it gave a big “2p off income tax” headline when it was announced, and most of the press bought that and cheered it. Unlike politicians, the press do not have to be consistent, apologise for what they said in the past, or restrict themselves to endorsing policies which are mutually possible.
