The lack of scientists in Parliament is a huge issue for all political parties. There is a much bigger imbalance on this than any of the more popular causes.
I’m pleased that Julian is doing a good job but that should not lead us to doubt that Governments of all persuasions in the UK do not understand science or scientists properly because hardly any of them have a scientific background. It doesn’t help that the sciences are underrepresented in the civil service too. This often leads to misunderstandings and poor decision making.
Julians Tory opponent – formerly of the Liberal Vision entryists – (the Clegg strategy target group) once again shows how illiberal she is.
