Labour Councillors ‘bully’ leader out of office

Councillor Andy White, leader of West Dunbartonshire Council has announced he is to resign.

According to BBC News online Cllr White could “no longer tolerate the behaviour of two of his fellow Labour councillors and some Dumbarton Labour Party members. Cllr White alleged he had been subject to vindictive and personal abuse by some politicians after investing resources in schools in Clydebank. “

  • I don’t know whether it had anything to do with this but there must be some tensions around in Scottish Labour over local re-selections for the STV elections as the number of safe seats will drop dramatically (even if everything else was equal which of course it isn’t).
