I’m actually very impressed with this campaign. It’s very Alan Partridge but is funny and may breakthrough to people that would never watch normal political boardcasts
Yup, I meant the Alan Partridge reference as a compliment for those reasons.
It’s more Alan Partridge’s antecedent on The Day Today, Speak Your Brains, isn’t it?
The libdems have fantastic messages but a complete inability to get them across. I thought the website was rather clever but bits of the campaign make me cringe.
Also a note: You shouldn’t experiment with new ‘paywalls’ etc for the website so close to an election, this site is a great tool for convincing people to vote libdem but such measures might frighten them away.
I can’t help wondering why, if the “Labservatives” are such a complete joke, the Lib Dems feel constrained to commit themselves to exactly the same level of overall taxation as the present government.
It hadn’t used to be the case. I’m sure people remember the old policy of a penny extra on income tax to improve education.
Will a campaign based on “vote for us – we’re not either of the other two” really work, when the party is more closely aligned to the other two than it has been in the past? Is it any accident that these days the Lib Dems account for less than half the non-Tory, non-Labour vote, according to opinion polls?
Note the date ezekiel…..
@ ezekiel – re the paywall – what’s the date? ;o)
