Last chance to apply for Scottish Future Leaders 2024

The Scottish Liberal Democrats have been running a Future Leaders programme for the past few years. 10-12 Scottish party activists are given an intensive programme over the course of 9 months or so. By the end of this, your skills in so any areas will have improved.

One of this year’s graduates, Andy Williamson, talks about it here.

Scottish Liberal Democrat Chief ExecutiveRachel Palma Randle describes the course and the commitment you will need to make.

This is not just another training course.

You will need to commit to a year-long programme of self-development, to increase your campaigning/ volunteering capacity and demonstrate your leadership locally. In return, successful ‘candidates’ will have the opportunity to attend residential, face-to-face training weekends to learn the latest campaigning techniques, zoom training sessions, in-seat action days and gain mentoring support and advice from leaders outside the Party.

We are asking all potential candidates to complete a quick application form (10 minutes max). To secure your place you will need to i) identify what you think your pathway in the Lib Dems could or might be. ii) evidence your commitment to the party. What campaigning have you done? iii) demonstrate your commitment to the programme. What will you do with the skills you learn?

The deadline to apply is 5pm on Friday, 20th September by completing this form.
