Some good news from Layla Moran:
We know we are lucky. They’re in Manama to be with their immediate family and are grateful to Bahrain for giving them sanctuary. They’re exhausted and traumatised. I look forward to Zooming with them in the next few days.

She adds:
Thank you to all who have followed their story. But while theirs ends with reunification, having lost one along the way, this atrocious war rages on. I won’t stop working until we achieve not just an end to violence, but peace once and for all.
As a Palestinian, Layla has been a powerful voice on the war in Gaza, especially as she is our Foreign Affairs spokesperson. Back in December she talked to Channel 4 news about her extended family who were holed up in the church in Gaza.
For now we are just grateful that Layla’s family are safe.

Thank you for letting us have this good news.
Thankful for Layla and her powerful and compassionate stand on the whole issue, and that she will continue on behalf of all who still suffer beyond our comprehension.
In this grotesque situation in Gaza with trust and safety destroyed Layla has been a strong, clear and compassionate voice. The awful history makes it easy for blame and bitterness, which many politicians get locked into, but the brave look at the tougher journey forwards for all sides. Layla needs all our support as she leads on that path.
