Ahem.
Citizen Lem from Mancha Productions on Vimeo.
(It may, or may not, help explain this film by pointing out that it is a parody / homage to the Citizen Smith TV credits.)
In its favour can be said that it features less ear action than this Lembit Opik film from the 1990s:

The 1990’s recruitment video, amateurish as it is by current standards, dates from when Lembit was a valuable member of the Liberal Democrat team.
Sadly, the current video accurately shows him as someone who thinks he’s the leader of a movement, but actually has no followers. (Apart from a long-suffering girlfriend and a flat-mate, if I remember the original series correctly. Not sure that part applies.)
BTW what happened to the Recruitment video’s colour balance in conversion from video tape? I may have one of the original VHS tapes somewhere if anyone wants to have another go at converting it.
Indeed, Lembit was hailed as one of the party’s very best activists. I read once about him recruiting members to the party on long train journeys. Sadly, he got in to parliament and became a z list celeb and showed little if those skills he was famed for.
So an attempt to woo the hard let vote…. 🙂
Robert Lindsay should sue.
There are great parallels between Lembit and Gavin Henson.
Both have had their moments
Both exceptionally talented,
Both with a fatal flaw of loving the celebrity limelight too much,
Both got to s**g iconic welsh women,
Neither lived up to their talents,
Both thought a move to London would revitalise their career.
(mind you Gavin has actually delivered at least once when the pressure was on

any excuse to post this :-))
Surely he could have asked some of the propagandists on PresTV for advice?

Having listened to Paddy’s remarks at the very end of the recruitment video, will the person who recruited Nick Clegg step forward and confess?
