Here is the first video of the Lib Dem In campaign. What do you think?
Today we launch our campaign for Britain to remain in Europe. This is Britain’s time to lead, not leave. Together we…

All blue sky, motherhood and apple pie. What about a bit more reality? The EU is in a mess. Why don’t we acknowledge this. A bit more honesty would not go amiss.
Hi John
The EU could be a darn side better. Will leaving achieve that reform? Not a chance.
The EU helps us negotiate trade deals with more countries outside the common market.
Only working in the EU do we have a hope in hell in solving the refugee crisis.
The Tories complain that the EU enforces too many laws, and yet even their right-wing Tories voted with the rest of European Parliament 87% of the time last year.
I have no doubt that we are stronger together. That said, there is too much bureaucracy in Europe. There’s also a lot of bureaucracy in our Pariament though. Lets work with other EU countries to create change, not throw our toys out of the pram and winge like Cameron used to. Luckily, I think he’s learning to create a dialogue instead of threaten his peers in Europe.
Very good. Tim popping up with a gloomy face saying “I don’t want to put millions of jobs at risk” made me laugh because it looks like a no-brainer when he puts it like that.
Good on the young people reminding us that the EU gives us the right to live anywhere in the EU and not just the other way around.
It will be a good addition to the “Stronger In” campaign. We should probably talk about Europe strengthening its external borders too, so people don’t just think the status-quo is the option if we remain.
With all its faults the EU is really the only show in town. The Brits aren’t the only ones who want to see change. It’s just that, at the moment, some of the others just don’t want to rock the boat.
This is how it should be done! I wish Stronger In would stop scaremongering and start making a positive case for EU membership like this one. I’ve recently been a little worried about our media team, but this video is completely on message. Can we have it as our next party political broadcast? Do we get one before the referendum?
I agree completely John. Let’s stop the emotional, fear-driven anti-Europe rhetoric and look at this objectively. Europe isn’t perfect, but it won’t get any better with us outside it.
After being shafted by the Tories last May – for standing up and doing the right thing – ie going into coalition – has anyone given a thought to the political aftermath if Brexit occurs. How much blame would go to the Tories? How divided would they become? I am not saying we should vote for exit ….or am I?
