Liberal Democrats storm the Rock (very genteelly)

As part of the European election campaign, Vince Cable visited Gibraltar a few days ago, accompanied by our lead candidate in the South West and Gibraltar, Caroline Voaden, former MEP Sir Graham Watson, and Luke Stagnetto, the Gibraltar-based list candidate.

  • Yep. Smart move this. We got 67% of the Gibraltar vote in 2014; if we can repeat or top that it could indeed make the difference.
    It will be interesting to follow Vince’s movements this week, to see where the party thinks a ‘leader event’ will be worthwhie. I understand he is going to be in Edinburgh on Thursday morning, which is a good sign that someone thinks we could get Sheila Ritchie elected. Watch his twitter account to see where else he shows up.

    A marvellous visit, we need real support to the Gibralter people at the front of our priorities, as with Northern Ireland and Scotland, the description of “family,” by our leader here, apposite.
