Liberal Youth England seeks 3 regional chairs

LYE smallLiberal Youth England has vacancies for 3 regional chairs in the following areas:

  • London
  • Western Counties
  • Yorkshire and the Humber

By-elections for these positions will be held at the Liberal Youth Winter conference in Cardiff next weekend.

Regional chairs are  am responsible for establishing, organising and supporting Branches and Societies in the region, acting as a regional point of contact for the Executive, media, campaigns, events and Federal Party purposes.

All members of the party in England  under the age of 26 are eligible to stand.

If you’d like to stand for election, simply email me (for I am the Returning Officer) at [email protected] with the following:

  • Your name and membership number;
  • Your address and telephone number;
  • Your agreement to be a candidate and to abide by the election regulations.

You will also need the names and membership numbers of two Liberal Youth England members who are prepared to nominate you. Please get in touch with me if that requirement could cause a problem for you.

You can submit a manifesto with your nomination, which can be up to one side of A5.

Nominations must be received before 17.00 on Wednesday 6th November.

There are some other elections going on at the same time, so make sure you say which region you’re interested in.

There will be an opportunity for candidates to make their pitch and take questions at the Conference. Only those Liberal Youth England members present in Cardiff will be able to vote in this election.
