More news, fewer places to look

The latest stories from a range of different (official) party websites is now being drawn together in one place, with our new aggregator at http://blogs.libdems.org.uk

It pulls in stories from places such as the party’s main www.libdems.org.uk website, specialist sites covering particular policy areas such as Home Office Watch, Nick Clegg’s www.nickclegg.com and also a selection of the latest media coverage of the party from around the internet. Also crammed in are the party’s latest YouTube film, Twitter updates and campaigns buttons. All in just the one place.

We’re currently looking at adding in the highlights from Scottish, Welsh and European news too.

For those interested in the technical bits: it is built on WordPress, using one of the Google services to aggregate the different feeds into one combined source.

  • Looks great but can we change the campaign button called ‘Nick Clegg – out of Westminster’? It looks to me like we’re campaigning to get Nick Clegg out of Westminster! Wanted to express my concern but please delete my comment!

Why don’t we concentrate our efforts on having a single, high quality, official website?

Our current site is awful – particularly when compared to the Tories’. The frontpage is cluttered, full of boring text and diffuclt to navigate.

I hope this can be sorted out before the next election.

As an opponent of Clegg’s regressive income tax cutting policy, I had to smile at that ‘Nick Clegg – Out of Westminster’ button!
