Three months ago Lib Dem Voice reported that David Murray had withdrawn as Lib Dem candidate for the Shropshire seat of The Wrekin as the result of an on-going police investigation.
The BBC reports the outcome of the case:
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him and no further action should be taken.
Mr Murray had denied the claims and said he was pleased with the outcome. He said the claims had been made to damage his chances at the election.
“It [the sexual abuse claims] came out of the blue. It was supposed to have happened nine to 10 years ago. It is no coincidence the claims came at the time they did though with the general election. I agreed to withdraw to save the party any embarrassment, but I said at the time there was nothing to it.”

A relief for him and his family.
To be falsly accussed of such serious acts is really destructive. Psychologically it is very damaging.
This has happened to a lib Dem candidate before. (Was it Yarmouth or Lowestoft? 2005 or 2001?) Is there to be no inquiry into the motivation of those making the claims, and whether or not they were deliberate false claims made to damage the party?
