A reminder, if you’ve been putting it off, that you only have until midnight tonight to vote in the Power 2010 online poll:
What 5 reforms will bring real change to UK democracy? You can vote for as many reforms as you like, but just once for each reform.
The top 5 ideas become the POWER2010 Pledge – the backbone of our nationwide campaign for change at the next election. Vote now.
You can see which five proposals are leading at the moment, and as Mark has already blogged, it’s worth bearing in mind the options you don’t like, as well as the ones you do.
So don’t put it off any longer: vote now. It only takes a few seconds.

Hmm, 160 votes between 4th and 6th. With 4th (currently EVOEL) being a badly thought through constitutional abomination that is pretty much unworkable, and both 5th and 6th being very sensible ideas.
I’d rather an English Parliament than EVOEL, and my opposition to that is well covered elsewhere. Go vote people, back sensible liberal proposals, knock the unworkable mess out of the top 5.
Does anybody remember the last time there was something before Parliament that only affected England? Because I don’t. That one seems pretty useless to me, it’s not something that will happen very often.
There was a Health bill, and an Education bill, that Scottish LAbour MPs voted for but that wouldn’t be applied there.
It’s rare to get English specific stuff, but there is a lot of England and Wales stuff, where the same principles could apply–so you could easily end up with a UK Govt unable to pass English or E&W only legislation. Far better to devolve power down in some way.
Tuition Fees were introduced on Scottish votes despite the fact their constituents wouldn’t be affected by them as it is a devolved issue.
