Liz is a great choice for Meon Valley, which takes in the southern half of the current Winchester seat and of the Winchester City Council District. We’re looking forward to Liz’s energy and enthusiasm helping us in the fight back to retake control of the City Council.
I thought Sandi Toksvig was a shoe in for Meon Valley. That was the impression I got from Iain Dale 🙂

“a shoe in”
A pedant writes: that should be a shoo in
Unless Sandi has taken out UK citizenship (or Irish or that of a Commonwealth country) she would not be eligible to stand for Parliament.
A good place for Liz to start her campaign is Old Winchester Hill, because up there you can see most of the constituency. In fact, you can see the full length of the Isle of White, Watership Down to the north, and to the east, Blackdown and Woolbeding Beacon.
Perhaps a word should be put in somewhere for Hampshire East. The Lib Dem vote went up in 2005, against the regional trend in Tory seats, and Michael Mates is retiring. Even the most unpromising areas sometimes succumb to sustained effort.
Go on, Nigel Farage! Concentrate your efforts on Lib Dem/Tory marginals!
What a stupid idea! This Angus Huck is a complete IDIOT !
Wrong, Anonymous. Idiots are snivelling little cowards like you who post anonymously. The sort of lowlife twats one flicks away like gnats. Pack this troll back to Norway.
Denmark, HUCK, you MORON !
Have you lost your glasses, Anonymous? Trolls come from NORWAY.
I welcome the early announcement of the Liberal Democrat candidate. That’s three declared so far, Liz Leffman, Tory G Hollingbery and me as I shall be standing as an Independent. This is a brand new seat and wide open for an Independent challenge. Graeme Quar – check out my web site.
Dear Angus, I still remember your superb work as my agent in London West in the 1994 Euro-elections, which got me, if I remember righrly, the biggest increase of any Libdem candidate. As you know, I resigned in anger over Ashdowne’s supine and spineless approach to the bombing of Serbia. It was Blairite.I could never rejoin, unless it was a safe seat, a hot one, and if you were my agent. Do get in tiuch. I’m quite well known on Cyprus and Anglu- Greek relations. YOURS, bILL mALLINSON
