The incumbent pro-Western Serbian President, Boris Tadic, has beaten the pro-Russian nationalist Tomislav Nikolic by around 51% – 47%.

Hi – Can you please check out this poll and maybe put up a link for your readers?

Thanks!
The Serbian result is good news, and very important for the future of the Balkans.
Precisely, this election was of vital importance not only to Kosova, the development of the Balkans, but the future of the EU, and of EU – Russian relations. We can all breath a little easier this morning.
Boris Tadic – The one Boris I was backing.
The real question I guess, given the result was so close, is how much of Nikolić’s vote was for him and his policies, and how much anti-incumbency “time-to-change” sentiment? Because if 47% of the Serbian electorate are really in favour of his ideas, there’s still a lot of room for trouble in the future.
I suppose it’s good news, although it’s unlikely that Balkans will be stable for a long time to come. Can’t say I approve of Kosovan independence; Europe doesn’t need another Moldova.
