Protesting against the frankieboyleisation of society: “What is a Labour candidate – a Labour candidate – doing talking about “chavs”? Even in the post-Blair Labour Party, surely its candidates should have some vestigial sense of being on the side of the workers?”

• Vote tactically for usssssss (Alix Mortimer)

On volunteer conscription: “The direction of resources must be determined at community level otherwise such a scheme will end up as just a Tory election gimmick which I suspect it is anyway.”
