One Comment
“Most read” suggests these are the postings that most engage LD members in comment amongst themselves.
This is misleading. And it really makes a nonsense of the Most Read title.
It is more than likely that our political rivals watch our site more closely than our members. Often the first comments are from non LD posters.
For me, this has stopped me from taking the trouble to engage in comment; it has become a mudslinging between political activists.
Take the David Laws article for example. The comments are just an argument between half a dozen boys but it gives the misleading impression of Party rejection.
While I know that you cannot ban non party members from the site you could help party members to recognize where the comments are coming from by either:
# asking LD members to identify themselves.
# publishing a list of the regular posters political affinities. There are only about a dozen regulars.
