  • Nice one, Paul. Tells you as much about Hammond’s exciting oratory as it does about the audience though.

Having said that, I still shudder at the Blair FO and die stuff at the LD Glee Club. More than a tad shameful and a good advert for the introduction of minimum pricing.

For a mere £520 elderly people can attend the Tory conference in order to ease their insomnia condition.

    The radical centre?

Lib Dem gatherings look much more exciting: http://cdn2.spectator.co.uk/files/2013/09/152758364.jpg

On closer scrutiny, it looks there are serial sleepers!

Oh dear, better reconnect to alarm clock Britain then.

  • Martin Land 5th Oct '16 - 5:05pm

Nice to see the Young Conservatives on their annual trip.

    Paul,
Tories are better when they are asleep. They do less damage.
However, you posted this under ‘Humour’. What’s funny about 20 years of rule by this lot?

Here, here, the Glee Club songs , even not offensive , are fairly talentless and cras, that one terrible!

    Here, here here…..!

While the nation sleeps, the biggest power grab since the Enclosures Acts is underway.

  • Ruth Bright 6th Oct '16 - 10:05am

David Raw, Lorenzo I tried to single-handedly save the Glee Club with a song about the coalition to the tune of “Downtown”. Sadly no-one seemed to like it and my song writing genius continues to go unrecognised!! I am truly proud of the epic lyric: “We lost the AV vote which we had failed to gerrymander. We used to stand for something more than Danny Alexander”.

I’d be grateful if people didn’t use that photo of my parents. They were both in their 90’s when it was taken, yet still attended every conference. I think most people of that age need a nap at times!

  • Well said Wendy. Actually I think that picture says more about the less-than-scintillating sessions that tend to dominate our conference than it does about your parents. It would be fairer if the photo showed who was speaking at the time! 8=o
