Tempers flared in the Lib Dem blogosphere last week – both between bloggers, and also against the leadership following the party split over a Lisbon Treaty referendum. Fortunately, a successful conference in Liverpool has intervened, with a great speech by Nick Clegg, so perhaps there will be a return to sweetness and light in the coming days.

Anyway, without further ado, here we go in descending order of popularity:

1. That Cowardly Norfolk Blogger Tantrum In Full on Alex Wilcock’s Love and Liberty blog.
Yes, this one did make it to the top of the top of the blogs. It gets more conciliatory the further down the page you read… honest.

2. Kramer and Heath walk out of Lib Dem shadow cabinet meeting on Lib Dem Voice.
Or not, as it turned out. The Daily Mail’s Ben Brogan inaccurately stirs it up.

3. Rumblings against Nick Clegg on Gavin Whenman’s Gavin’s Gaily Gigest blog.
Was Susan Kramer letting off steam against Nick Clegg? Or was Gavin reading too much into her comments? You decide…

4. Let peace reign in the land of Lib Dem bloggers on Mark Valladares’ Liberal Bureaucracy blog.
Pacifist spoilsport.

5. When Bloggers Attack! on Jo Anglezarke’s Jo’s Jottings blog.
Warring bloggers get a ticking off: competition is “supposed to get you to try harder and achieve better results. Not to take a sword to your fellow Lib Dem bloggers!”

6. Suddenly you realise you are not so different after all on Nich Starling’s Norfolk Blogger blog.
Nich contemplates leaving the party over the party’s referendum stance.

7. In response on Nich Starling’s Norfolk Blogger bog.
Back where we started at 1.

Fellow Lib Dem blogger Bob Shaw comments: “This nomination is purely because the humour behind the post appealed to my sense of humour.”

10. Twisted Knickers, Nick Clegg and the Blogosphere on Linda Jack’s Lindyloo’s Muze blog.
Nominated by Alex Wilcock with customary brevity: “For a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty but seeing the other side, pointing out there’s more to life and pouring balm over the blogosphere in the most sensible post I’ve read on the issue.”

11. Day 2619: Aren’t we supposed to be the UNITED Party on Europe? on Millennium Dome, Elephant’s, Very Fluffy Diary blog.
“Regretful, insightful, and realising that it’s the little things that bring you to grief, then the lessons to learn,” so says Alex.

12. A lasting political marriage by Jonathan Calder on the New Statesman’s blog.
Okay, so it didn’t appear (directly) on LibDemBlogs.co.uk, but this was a must-read account of the Lib Dems’ formation. And the conclusion is sublimely cheeky: “the Liberals bequeathed the party’s its philosophy and strategy and the SDP brought its membership system”.
