Good on economic credibility, but by picking issues such as “anti surveillance on emails” or “anti bombing in Syria” then what stops you from signing up a load of hard leftists? The Lib Dems shouldn’t go down the path of the Labour Party.
Because that is what will happen if you just run campaigns opposing things and signing people up for membership who agree.
Good interview. and I’d like to see more of this sort of thing on LDV. But I have a couple of ‘process’ points.
1. Who is Helen Duffett? The article into doesn’t say. (I know who she is, but don’t forget we have 18000 new members, and many others, who may not know).
2. Helen keeps looking at her notes. This is really unfair on Tim. If you’re doing an interview, you need to maintain eye contact with the person. If you don’t believe me, try having a conversation with someone who keeps looking away. It’s hard. Tim does well, but I get the sense he is finding it hard to engage with her, for this reason.
Sorry to seem critical – I’m actually trying to be constructive. I would like to see more of these sort of vids with party figures, but hopefully the glitches can be ironed out. 🙂

Partially this is about process. If members go out on the doorsteps recruiting the activity will bring results.

Exactly, how about talking about issues that voters actually care about like immigration ?
