Bless the BBC. They’ve put together this fantastic selection of clips from Charles Kennedy’s incredible 42 – yes 42 – appearances on Question Time. It’s well worth a watch.

It seems like the Beeb really made an effort with their tributes to Charles, there was a real sincerity to it all. I didn’t think anyone would care much after a day or so, but we’ve seen mourning throughout the week and it’s been testament to how broadly loved CK was.
One facet of all of this I’ve not heard about yet is from the people that deposed Charles. We’ve all heard stories and rumours of how that went down, but I’d like someone to explain it all again, slowly. I never really understood what I was told, I found it hard to believe that he was “unsavable”, as a human and as a party leader. To me, the idea we couldn’t help him through such a problem showed an inherent flaw and if we look at the outcomes statistically it would suggest we never recovered from that moment. If anyone was there at the time and can give an account of that period I’d be most grateful. Is there a book with this sort of account in?
Fantastic to watch that, thanks for posting it.
He just made so much sense. So sad to think he is no longer with us.
