Welcome shortly to the new Parliament, where not everything has changed:
NADINE DORRIES, the Conservative MP, faces the first expenses complaint of the new parliament after a row about a £10,000 claim she paid to a friend’s company.
Her former Commons researcher, Peter Hand, is writing to John Lyon, the parliamentary commissioner for standards, questioning whether the claim can be justified.
The complaint will undermine hopes that the expenses controversy can be consigned to the last parliament.
Dorries, who last week retained her mid-Bedfordshire seat, claimed the money for an annual report in 2007 on her performance as an MP, and consultancy services, but Hand said he never saw the report or worked on it.

The BBC is behaving discustingly, playing down PR and what the people want, they are playing by Murdoch’s rules it’s sickening to see, and no mention of Naddine Dorries you would have thought the media vulctures would have jumped on this.
We don’t just want PR we need PR.
I want to congratulate Peter Hand for writing to John Lyon re Nadine Dorries and expenses.
I have often read this MPs blog and Nadine Dorries either will NOT answer when asked, if what she has said is true.
From first being elected in 2005 there has been a number of untrue statements always blamed as—The Newspaper Got It Wrong. She certainly —got herself quite mixed up with facts when it came to the Abortion debate.
She has also made some very nasty remarks about other MPs.
Is she now living in a one bedroom Gate House or a 7 Bedroom Farmhouse ? Will she now give up wearing 500 pound shoes that she gloats about and instead work for her constituents ? Will she stop putting photograph after photograph of herself on her blog page ? Will she cease talking about her girls and dogs and talk instead about what she can do to help pensioners and people who can’t afford 500 pound shoes. I hope John Lyon really looks hard into all Dorries expenses.
Incidentally, there has been a petition set up to have Ms Dorries deselected: here.
