Norfolk Blogger has the story and Jon Herbet being conviced of common assault:
Conservative South Norfolk Councillor Jon Herbert has joined two of his council colleagues by being convicted of a criminal offence.
You can read all about the way this Tory Councillor treated Council staff HERE. The Tories campaigned hard in South Norfolk last time on the issue of crime. It seems odd that so many of their councillors have become criminals since being elected.

Some of the flak should attach to Mr Cameron, who came to South Norfolk to heavily promote them during the 2007 elections.
This was a particularly nasty incident for so many reasons not least the bullying aspect – what sort of ‘man’ assaults women doing their job? Even if there were no injuries both women must have been very frightened by the whole experience.
I was amused to see Herbert was keen to align himself with the England rugby team at the time of the Paris final – violence towards women is not something that sits easily with the rugby ethical code – its a game for hooligans played by gentlemen. Herbert is clearly not a gentleman and is certainly not fit for public office.
Were he a gentleman he would have resigned by now.
This post is disgraceful. It has nothing to do with the US Presidential election!
I agree with the view that David Cameron ought to be pressed on this. he made a big point of visiting South Norfolk, indeed, I think he visited the business of one of those people convicted (although I am happy to be corrected on this if I am wrong).
This should be made more of and I hope (but doubt) South Norfolk Lib Dems are putting it on every leaflet over and over again.
This is pretty disgraceful behaviour. I echo Flatliner in condemning this primarily because of the bullying aspect – he did this simply because he thought he could intimidate and assault two women without recrimination, and that’s shameful. This ‘man’ has no business being in public office.
That said I’d like to know a little more surrounding the circumstances in which the dog escaped, the terms of the fine, and the condition that the dog was being held in.
Nonetheless this was a gross over reaction on his part. Silly bugger.
