The #GE2010 Golden Half-Dozen: pick of the Lib Dem blogs (8th April)

During the election campaign Lib Dem Voice is each day highlighting six blog-posts from the Lib Dem Blogs Aggregator which we think are well worth reading.

Here’s our pick from 8th April …

  • Help the Labservatives choose their next Cabinet (Caron Lindsay)
Highlighting the latest instalment of the Lib Dems’ fantastic Labservative bit of mischief: “in a radical act of benevolence, their leader Gorvid Camerown has offered you the chance to help choose his next Cabinet.”
  • The Digital Economy Bill #debill (Andy Strange)
Depressed by Parliament’s failure to respond to voters’ concerns: “The Liberal Democrats, despite our faults, are the only Party committed to real and radical reform of the political system. If you are angry about the Digital Economy Bill I can’t think of a better reason why you should vote for, and campaign for, the Liberal Democrats.”
  • Don’t fear a hung parliament (Bracknell Blog)
If the Germans can cope with being well-hung … “it is a chance to get agreement rather than adversarial politics. It is also a chance for Britain to have a more representative parliament which offers sensible cooperation between parties.”
  • Equality Pledge (Paula Keveaney)
Paula’s signed up: “There’s lots of evidence to show that a society that is more equal means better mental health, higher overal quality of living and so on.”
  • Day 3383: Election Campaign Day Two – Our Tax Promises are BETTER (Millennium Dome, Elephant)
Explaining the National Insurance row to us muggles: “we accept that to tackle the deficit you need to cut spending and raise a bit more tax. But we want to be more HONEST about how we make those cuts and we want to be FAIRER about how we raise that tax.”
  • Off and running (Fiona Whelan)
Insights of a first-time general election activist: “watching this General Election through the eyes of my 14 year old son … [who’s] likely to be able to vote in the following election. So he’s taking note.”
