Catherine tells us that she is not lonely in Europe because she is part of a vibrant Liberal group. And tells us how the European Union protects birds of prey.

Nice video Catherine and passionate about green issues but we need stronger meat than this if we’re to win the referendum.
You can see why she held on to her seat! A very positive presentation. However, I agree with Stephen Booth, that it will take more than this approach to convince the undecideds. We HAVE to acknowledge that the EU needs major change if it is to survive in any meaningful form. Donald Tusk has realised the dangers of a Brexit. Let’s hope more senior politicians in Europe listen to him and follow his example.
Well done Catherine remember pollution and climate change does not respect borders there is a huge green lobby out there .With more members in your local wildlife trust area than in our party as a whole .motivate that lobby to support the in campaign.
I would like to know what the Liberal group is doing to help refugees. Is it possible for them to push for changes in the way member countries deal with asylum seekers to achieve a unified pan European approach and also to prevent further deaths by drowning by instigating sea patrols of the routes taken by those fleeing violence and death by bombing?

Well said regarding reform. The position of our party sounds so devotedly pro EU , or did , it has seemed pro any kind of EU.We are not , or should not be ,a party in any way sympathetic to top down ,cumbersome , lumbering , giantism in government. The EU is not that , but it points that way and would have been if some of a Christian Democrat , or Social Democrat persuasion ,and indeed some Liberal Democrats in the Eu ,had got their way.
I do not believe even a sizeable minority in our party today , let alone beyond it , favour “ever closer union”, because we suspect we know what it would mean, and where it would lead.
I admit to being , as someone of half Italian and part Irish origin, a British patriot , as with many Americans of immigrant origin, with a parent who knew totalitarianism , I am very pro doing things our own way when we want to.I am as near to a Eurosceptic as our party has, vocally , not a Europhile, ever, not an actual Eurosceptic , really. A definitely Europragmatist. I am an internationalist , I believe we need to face outward but to all our friends , be a friend.
I hope we shall vote to stay in.But I believe our party leadership should face the fact there is a campaign in our party called Liberal Democrats to Leave , and so every party should have one .
