Interesting that the only place we held, we got stronger in

  • The Warrington result is compared to 2011. For obvious reasons most results are being compared to 2010 and the two years are so different that I’m not sure what conclusions you can draw by comparing the two.

I suspect the comparison with 2010 would also show us up and Labour down though

  • We lost Poulton North to Labour in May and Labour took control of the council. Maybe they are already making a pigs ear of it?

Cue an article on beating Labour in Warrington/Poulton North.

A good positive plus 9.1% L/D Hold in Warrington Poulton North.Well done!

  • A party pooper, me. I have already written to congratulate (privately) a senior member in Warrington (who is a friend of mine) on the good result there. However, surely the message of these results is that nothing much is getting better – all other results are significantly poorer than last time out, and I wouldn’t mind betting that the amount of help / activity in those wards was down as well. The unfortunate fact is, that until we are in “a different place” nationally, we will not make any serious progress or gain any significant extra support. There are too many around the party who are prepared to flatter the Emperor with the new clothes.

    Well done Warrington!

Otherwise, it seems more electorally-useful to be a member of the Devizes Guardian Party than Clan Cameron-Alexander.
